The United States Rugby Foundation has reorganized as a Delaware not-for-profit corporation. Donations and contributions made to the Foundation by individuals or organizations are exempt from U.S. Federal and State Tax in accordance with the Foundation’s status as a 501(c)3 organization. Please note our new EIN is 81-5187776. Foundation assets earmarked for giving are dispersed in the form of grants to individuals and organizations that have demonstrable needs or requests that meet the guidelines established by the USRF.

Don James Jr.

Don James Jr. is a successful technology services executive who has taken multiple companies from the early stages to rapid growth and successful maturity and then exits in various markets and environments. Companies under his tutelage have consistently achieved record growth and revenues in their industries as well as overall business growth awards. While at BEAR Data Solutions, DJ’s company achieved growth awards from the Inc. Magazine’s Fast Growth 5000 for six consecutive years, as well as IT industry growth and innovator awards.

Don is currently CEO of BEAR Cloud Technologies Inc, a multi-faceted IT and Cloud Services firm based in California. www.bearcloudtech.com

James enjoyed success in both rugby and football while attending Cal. James played tighthead prop for Cal rugby teams from 1981-85 and during that time, and led Cal to four National Collegiate Rugby titles.

In football, James was a four-year letterman and three-year starter on the defensive line. He earned All-West Coast and All-Pac 10 Honors following the 1983 season. James also played in the Japan Bowl (Collegiate All-Star Game) following the 1983 season.

James was selected to the University of California Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 for his rugby and football achievements.

After Cal, James won two national club championships with the Old Blues. He had stints with Old Belvedere (Dublin, Ireland) and Harlequins (London, England). He also attended Oxford University in 1989, playing in the Varsity Match against Cambridge.

James earned nine caps, all at tighthead, for the United States National Team, making his test debut in a victory over Canada in Seattle, WA in 1990. Today, James is a member of the Cal Rugby Board of Directors.

James resides in the San Francisco area with his family.
