San Diego, CA (July 6, 2007) – The United States Rugby Foundation has announced its latest grant recipients. Over the years, the USRF has provided balls to hundreds of youth and high school programs, helping introduce rugby to thousands of children. The latest recipients include a mix of boys and girls programs, youth and high school, and club and physical education programs. The Foundation has also provided nearly $35,000 in grants to coaches and referees who continue to explore avenues on how to improve their performances.
“The Foundation is happy to continue to provide rugby balls to existing and new rugby clubs around the country,” said USRF Executive Director, Brian Vizard. “It’s also wonderful to see more schools introducing rugby in their physical education regimens. The Foundation is pleased that we have a hand in introducing the sport to thousands of children as well as continuing to support coaches and referees.”

The USRF is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization established in 1963. Although its main focus is supporting youth and high school rugby, the Foundation also provides grants to coaches and referees; establishes international student exchanges and college scholarships, has assisted the United States Collegiate All-Americans and Boys Under-19 teams, and also provides grants to Safety and Risk Management Research.
