San Diego, CA (November 15, 2006) –A limited edition poster of the 2006 New Zealand All Blacks is the next item up for auction by the United States Rugby Foundation. What makes this poster so unique is that it was produced using the actual DNA of the 2006 All Blacks. What makes it even more special is that it is signed by the 2006 Tri Nations winning All Blacks squad. Scott Compton, Media Manager for the All Blacks, donated the poster to the Foundation just as he had the commemorative All Blacks-British and Irish Lions autographed jersey last year.
“The Foundation is appreciative and thankful of Scott’s continued generosity,” said USRF Executive Director Brian Vizard. “This is truly a unique piece of rugby art that would look great on anyone’s wall at home or office. The poster itself would have been enough but the signatures of the Tri Nations champions make it a real collector’s item.”
Compton, who worked closely with the USA Men’s National Team for many years, is currently in Europe with the All Blacks but expressed his support.
“Having spent so much time in the States I want to see the game continue to grow. I continue to follow the progress of the game in the US and it’s wonderful to see the numbers increase at the youth level.
The poster is displayed on eBay, item # 180049624397 with the auction ending at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 23, 2006. Included with the poster are a “Bonded by Blood” certificate and a letter of authenticity.
