Paul Kaler
Paul Kaler began his rugby career at eighteen years old in his hometown playing for the River City Rugby Club in Mason City, Iowa in the early ’90s. After an employment-driven move, Kaler found a home with the Eastside Banshees of Minneapolis, Minnesota for the rest of the decade. A change in careers brought him to Wausau, Wisconsin where he was welcomed by the Wausau Rugby Club from 1999-2007. It was here he met his greatest supporter and wife Sarah—a collegiate and club rugby player herself.
They soon moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where Paul joined the St. Louis Royals and began to put down roots. Paul won a national club championship with the Royals in 2017 while he and Sarah started the Kaler Family Foundation with the mission of helping athletes transition into college rugby.
Both avid rugby tourists, Paul and Sarah have participated and organized travel and play in England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France, Belgium, Holland, Australia, Argentina, Canada, and New Zealand.
Professionally, Kaler is a Territory Vice-President for HealthMarkets where he oversees insurance sales operations for Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Western Illinois, and the panhandle of Florida. He has served on a number of other non-profit boards as well.
