The Nations Championship was not always Six Nations!

The evolution of the Men's Six Nations Championship is well-documented:

  • 1910-1931 – Five Nations Championship (France joined).
  • 1932-1939 – France was excluded, reverting to the Home Nations Championship (4 teams).
  • 1947-1999 – Five Nations Championship (France rejoined after WWII).
