Memphis Inner City Rugby Turns 10 and Announces Two Available Positions

March 2, 2022

The US Rugby Foundation has proudly supported Memphis Inner City Rugby (MICR) since their founding in 2012. Since then, MICR has impacted over 2,000 student-athletes born into under-resourced communities across Memphis, scaled to field 14 teams, employed 3 full-time staff members and dozens of coaches – the majority of whom are alumni of their program. Many alumni have gone on to play for top colleges in the country, from Life and Lindenwood to Brown and Bowdoin and their story has been told at The Tribeca Film Festival, by Nike, NPR and beyond! Recently, Calvin Gentry, who spoke at the USRF Luncheon in 2014, made his debut for The Dallas Jackals with the MLR.

You can read more about MICR’s recent growth and vision for the future in an open letter from their Co-Founders here.

Ahead of their 10 Year Anniversary celebration, which will take place in October 2022, MICR is recruiting leaders in rugby to join their growing staff. They have announced two new position openings that present great opportunities to make a positive impact on our world, while making a career in the game we love.
